The Rolex Explorer II reference 16570 was designed as a professional tool watch for explorers and spelunkers operating in low-light environments. This late-1990s example features the desirable white “Polar” dial with a Swiss-only signature, marking an early Luminova period before the transition to Super-LumiNova. The fixed 24-hour bezel works in conjunction with the orange 24-hour hand to track a second time zone or distinguish day from night.
