About the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date – Ref. 1530 (Silver Dial / Stainless Steel / Integrated Bracelet / 36mm):

Introduced in 1975, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 1530 occupies a unique position in Rolex history as a transitional model preceding the Oysterquartz line. The angular stainless steel case was originally designed to house a future quartz movement, resulting in a bold integrated design reminiscent of other iconic 1970s sports watches. Produced in very limited numbers—estimated at fewer than 1,500 pieces—the 1530 instead houses Rolex’s automatic Caliber 1570, a chronometer-certified movement known for its durability and distinctive Teflon-coated reverser gears. The large rehaut and offset minute track reflect the deeper case architecture intended for quartz calibers. With its original integrated bracelet and distinctive case profile, the reference 1530 remains one of the rarest and most collectible vintage Rolex sports watches from the 1970s.
